Columbus Texas

Howdy, we are in the Texas Hill Country.   As you can see from the following pictures we are at a beautiful RV park.
Our RV site, loads of room
The RV Park borders the Colorado River
View from our kitchen window
Deer sightings every day
Great hiking trails
Smore's roast for the kids
Wonderful evenings
Lots of open fields
Cute town in La Grange Tx where we went
I felt like we were in Back to the Future movie, with the building in the center square having a clock tower.
The Lone Star of Texas
Memorial day, they had flags all around the square
Reminds us of an old western town
This was the Court Building in the center of town
Really cool inside
A memorial  for the veterans in La Grange.
And the Texas Quilt Museum is located in La Grange, a center location from San Antonio, Houston and  Austin.
The court house in Columbus Texas
This speaks for it's self, well done Columbus
Columbus is an older town with historic old buildings
This is in the center of town, it was originally a water tower and a fire station
All these older towns have these two cement steps, which I always trip over.  Notice the barber pole.
Saturday farmers market in the center of town
An outing at Quirkeys with our friends Jan, Bob and Gracie
Quirkys is a fun store, all run by solar power,  even has composting toilets, what more can you ask for.  The trains run by solar power too.
At church we walked in and saw all these quilts hanging over the pews.  May is their air your quilt month, the women bring them home after service. Was really nice to see.
The following Sunday we went to another church, the current Pastor was retiring and handing the Staff over to the new Paster, beautiful service.
Pam had to do a test drive.
Happy trails until we meet again.

Thousand Trails Colorado River RV Park
Columbus, Texas
*****This is a fiver for us, even if the local food store is not too vegetarian and organic friendly, good shopping is 20 miles away in either direction.  This is a well maintained and managed park.  Great manicured  hiking trails, bathroom/shower houses are new, and spacious level gravel RV sites. Roads are a mixture of blacktop and gravel.  Staff and campers are friendly.  There is a lot of open land with wildlife roaming.  Good satellite and AT&T phone service in A section, not sure in the lower level.
