Clermont, FL

Our second stop in Florida before heading to our winter home, Thousand Trails Orlando.   Very close to Disney World, so close your can watch the fireworks from the RV park every night.

The campground is huge.   It has wooded sites, open field sites,  pull through sites,  you name it.

Nice pools, hot tubs, and lots of activities.   Tom and I took up line dancing.

There is a beautiful lake that we walk down to watch fireworks.  They start 10 pm sharp, daily.   Disney World is on the other side of the trees.
They are not kidding,  in the evening you can see alligator eyes watching you.

Also watch out for snakes and other wildlife .

And what we didn't get a picture of was the women on a motorized cooler.   You have to see it to believe it.

It's starting to look like Christmas  here.
This is about as cold as Tom wants to get   !!!
This is also where we spend Thanksgiving.
This family was taking no chances, all the bases were covered.

Wildwood Fl

We made it, Florida

Have to stop for that fresh glass of orange juice (just love those selfies)

Been  having a good time, it's nice to sit for 3 weeks and not be on the go.  Staying at Three Flags RV park.
A mile and half down the road is a Russell Stover outlet.  Love the discount room.   Dangerous !!

Of course you have Mittens the park cat, who always likes a good snuggle.

There was good nightly entertainment at The Villages ...... and cool golf carts too !!!!

There is a farm in the back of the campground, you see cows and this cute little fella.

Woodbine, GA

Well we are almost to Florida,  7 miles from the border in GA.  We were here about 5 years ago.

The new owner keeps a well maintained resort.   Have met a lot of nice people here.

Even has Chickens and Pigs......
You know you are in the south when you see this!
Found a really good fresh seafood market down the street.   Bought Crawfish Boudin to try.

Myrtle Beach SC

We are moving farther south.   Arrived at Briarcliff RV resort, after a few detours.  Fantastic park. Tom loves seeing that "S" on the compass  inthe truck.

Our  sister in law and nephew came down for the day.  Had lunch and sampled wine at Bearfoot Landing.
Guess this says it all

Found a new restaurant to have a fish sandwich and enjoy the view at Grahams Restaurant in Murrells Inlet. Had a great week but it went too fast.  On to Woodbine GA.

Jackson Springs, NC

Stop off on our way down south.  This is our home park; due to Halloween and the hurricane damage  we  had to cut our Carolina trip short.  We also were not  able to visit our cousin along the way.
On an upbeat,  we met up with our sister-in-law for lunch in Southern Pines.

Shenandoah Nat. Park & Home of James & Dolley Madison

Did some site seeing while in Va.  Drove through Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park,
Beautiful views.  Had a picnic lunch at the Loft Mountain Wayside and saw hikers going down the Appalachian Trail.
Montpelier, Home of Dolley and James Madison.   They have been restoring  the home and grounds back to its original design, after being changed when the Dupont's owned it.  Dolley could not afford to keep the estate  after James passed away, she ended up broke.  Imagine that!
